Foreign Missions
Clem Clark Deacon
The Village Church of Christ has been active in foreign missions since its inception. We are presently involved in works in the following locations: Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, Ghana West Africa, and Cambodia. Besides these efforts, we remain actively involved in our support for the Truth for Today ministry.
Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz Mexico
Bruno and his family have been in Coatzacoalcos for two years. He began his work in this location in the downtown section of the city and has now expanded his work into the outskirts of the city. Presently, there are two congregations of the Church of Christ due to the efforts of Carlos andTeresa. Expanded evangelistic campaigns are planned for 2009 using all native preachers for the effort.

Ghana West Africa
The history of the Village Church's involvement in Ghana begins with James Mabery, pictured in the middle. Jim began preaching in Ghana over 30 years ago. Since his passing, Don Collins, pictured on his left, has taken up the task of continuing with the efforts of the Church there.
Recently, the Village Church has expanded its focus to include educational, benevolent and training activities to enhance our evangelistic efforts.
Rural Church Development:
The Village Church presently provides for either full or partial support for 16 native preachers from the Central, Western, Ashanti, and Upper East Regions of Ghana. Our primay efforts are designed to encourage the planting and development of new rural churches in the remote areas of Ghana. We also assist local preachers in providing training seminars for the village church leaders. During the 2009 year, we are presently supporting the development of two new congregations in small villages in the Central and Western Regions of Ghana.

VIDEO OF BONGO ORPHANAGE
Bongo Orphans Project
The project began in the summer of 2004 and is presently located on a two acre plot in the Bongo District of the Upper East region of Ghana. The home has 14 children living in a new house constructed in the summer of 2006. The project was facilitated by the efforts of Don Collins and he presently oversees the home. The home was originally started through the private donations of Village Church members and friends of this project. The Village Church has now taken up partial support of the project. The project has now completed the construction of a new church building on the site. Adams Akurumolga serves as the full-time director of the home and evangelist at the site. The church members have also assisted the home in several farming projects. The home farms five acres, raises chickens, and will begin a new goat project this year. The home is fully licensed by the Ghana Division of Social Development.
During the summer of 2010, the Village Church is providing the funds to establish a second house at the site. With this new house, the boys and girls will be able to have their separate facilities. Anybody wanting to assist with the orphanage should contact Don Collins at dlcmary@att.net

Educational Consortium Project
This program is sponsored by members of the Village Church of Christ and members of congregations in Missouri, Illinois, and Texas. Since poverty in the rural villages is a way of life, rural village children are provided academic scholarships to attend high schools if they qualify for admission. Presently, the program has 29 children on full scholarships. The project also provides for two students at the university level, one in Kumasi and one in Cape Coast. We also accept applications from students who wish to attend Vocational Training Schools. We are presently sponsoring two students at this level. The project provides grants to four church sponsored schools in the Ashanti and Central Regions of Ghana for the purpose of providing additional books and educational supplies to the students.
Lastly, we provide two grants to Ghana Bible School students each year to assist in their tuition and support while attending school. News letters can be viewed here. June 2007, November 2007, June 2008, April 2009.
