Gospel Chariot Evangelism Updates: August 25-29, 2026

 

Food Preparations for the Gospel Chariot Evangelism
Sandra and some of the church ladies woke up early to cook jollof rice for the brethren who will be coming for the evangelism in the late afternoon and evening.

 

This evening, we just concluded 2 days of open-air evangelism with the Gospel Chariot in the Water Board and Igbira Camp neighborhood of Auchi. This is a high-risk area because, in the past 2 years, we have witnessed more kidnapping and banditry in this area than anywhere else in our locality. As it has become my regular practice, I always leave the venue before it gets dark. This is because I have more personal security concerns than most others. I usually get to the venue earlier than most people. Transportation is a very serious challenge. Fuel is expensive. The buses and motorcycles we purchased have been very useful.

 

Each day, as in all other places, we follow the same routine. We start with equipment set-up and follow with devotionals and announcements. Next is public preaching of the Gospel by a selected preacher. Sometimes we have used two preachers. While the preaching is going on, the brethren spread out into the streets, distributing tracts from house to house and directing attention to the preaching stand. We give room to anyone who has questions to either come to the podium or send it by text through the phone numbers earlier announced. We close with devotional and prayers. Thereafter, the boys begin to pack up the equipment for departure.

We are very thankful for the grace and mercy of God, who has granted us safety and security since the beginning last week Monday. We are especially thankful to God for seeing us through our work in these areas in the past 2 days, where insecurities have been most threatening. This area has been most insecure, despite the fact that a military barracks is in the same area. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, we will be in Jattu, which is the closest to us. Then we will conclude the work on Saturday here at Ibienafe.

We thank God for safety and security for the two days, and the good weather for the first day, August 27. But we did have a little disturbance with weather on the second day, 28th.

As usual, we preached the Gospel publicly and from house to house, distributing tracts in the neighborhoods. Also, for each place, we have a tracts stand by the roadside from which passersby are able to access free tracts.

Today, August 29th, is the last day of our work with the Chariot crew before they relocate to the next place. We at the Ibienafe congregation are hosting the teamwork today.

So far, we have baptized 4 persons. But we have made a very huge impact with the Gospel of Christ in the entire metroplex around Auchi, and we believe that we will continue to reap the dividends of this work in the next many months and even years to come.

Lord willing, if we have another opportunity to host the Gospel Chariot in the future, and especially if we have some help with funds for fuel and food and to print enough tracts, I believe that we will do even better than this.
